Shine ‘n’ Dine spotlight night in Culcairn – it was a starry, ringtailed night on March 16 2023
Wandering around Culcairn Golf Course on a Thursday night is my idea of fun! We saw 21 ring-tail possums, a brush tail and finally 1 Squirrel glider. The stars were breathtaking and the mozzies kept a low profile.
Rachael Daniel our Local Landcare Co-ordinator organized the event and provided the catering as part of the Biodiversity Conservation Trust Private Land Conservation Project, to highlight local biodiversity. This event was washed out several times last year, thank you so much to the folks who stuck with us and the enthusiastic crew on the night.
Colleen O’Malley, an ecologist from BCT shared her experience and great eye-shine spotting skills as we wove our way around the White box, Yellow box and Red gums on the picturesque golf course. Paula Sheehan had a range of nest boxes and chatted about nest box installations & monitoring program across Albury, Burrumbuttock and Upper Murray.
Thank you Rachael & Colleen, we loved it.
