In conjunction with the NSW Nature Conservation Trust and Slopes2Summit we are running a Wattle Day Planting event at a private conservation area on “Mt McKenzie”, a property just south of Holbrook on the Woomargama Way. This covenanted area of White Box Woodland and rocky outcrops is important habitat for many of our woodland birds, squirrel gliders and reptiles.
We are wanting to re-establish clumps of wattle species that are no longer present on the site to improve the habitat values and long term tree health. Some tree guards and kanagaroo exclosures will be put up as well as the planting.
We need willing and able volunteers that are able to help out – come for a couple of hours or the whole day.
BBQ Lunch will be provided.
More info or RSVP to Holbrook Landcare on 0260363181 or Kylie on 0418198522.
